I'm clueless about most of these, but Sedaris totally lights up my world. Not every one of his stories makes me laugh, but most of them do. And Me Talk Pretty I think is my favorite.
You've reminded me that I haven't read any of the Hitchhiker books. My daughter will be reading it for homeschool next year and I plan on joining her :)
Aww, Shel Silverstein books. Such good childhood memories.
Yes to Bridget Jones! I haven't reread those in forever! And anything Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Ashamed to say it, but I've never read Good Omens though. I need to fix that. And I need to get back to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The readathon distracted me.
Sandy - That's my favorite too. I don't love all his stories either, but some have me rolling on the floor.
Jennifer - Your daughter gets to read Hitchhiker for school?!?! That is so awesome!
Sarah - I grew up loving his books!
Heather - I just reread Bridget Jones for the first time in 10 years! I hope you like Hitchhiker if you get back to it!
A great list! Why haven't I read any Bill Bryson? Such a shame.
I almost included Rose & Guild Are Dead on my list. And you have Silverstein on here! and Hitchhiker. so many good choices!!
Great list! I really need to read some Wodehouse...
Brooke - He's so funny! Try A Walk in the Woods or Down Under.
Red - I have tickets to see a back to back performance of Roz and Guild and Hamlet in August. I can't wait!
Rob - That British humor gets me every time.
David Sedaris - definitely! I have a couple of Bill Bryson's books here, too.
Love everything you have on this list! Thanks.
Here's my list of favorite Light & Fun reads!
Great choices … a few I need to add to my list of "I need a laugh STAT" pile.
I haven't read the majority of these, but I do love Shel Silverstein and THE PRINCESS BRIDE. Great choices!
And now I'm sad I didn't think of Hitchhiker's Guide or Princess Bride. Awesome books for this list!
Great list! Mt Talk Pretty One Day is my favorite Sedaris book.
Yes to Bill Bryson! He's my favorite light read.
So many hilarious authors to read, so little time!
Me Talk Pretty is on my list, too! I also like James Thurber.
Bybee - I've never read Thurber, but now I'll check him out!
