February Classic Meme Question

“What classic has most surprised you so far, and why?”

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, I thought it was going to be incredible dark and depressing, which I why I put off reading it for so long. Instead I was thrilled to discover a story of hope and overcoming obstacles. It was a wonderful reminder that the things we go through do not determine who we are. The way we react to them determines that.

  2. Me too! No it isn't poetry, it's her memoir of her childhood and it's told in a really accessible way.

Bybee - Me too, I know I'll return to this one in the future.
