There is definitely a certain FEEL coming out of this state. But ick, Franzen.
I grew up in Southern Missouri, on a cape in the Mississippi just before the "boot heel" that sticks down into Arkansas, and it always puzzled me that Tom and Huck could swim in the river. Just this year I finally made it to Hannibal and saw the river up there!
Sandy - Ugh, I know!
Jeanne - I didn't know you grew up there! There's always something special about the state we grew up in.
I just can't support Lenore Hart because of the plagiarism issue. The fact that St. Martin's Press chose to ignore it is a slap in the face to writers who do their own hard work.
I would recommend TRUMAN by David McCullough for a fabulous nonfic MO read. I love Missouri.
Kelly - Interesting, I hadn't heard anything about that, but I also haven't read that book.
Care - Thanks! I'll add it to the list.
