I am so excited about something and I thought I'd share. The Book Thief, one of my absolute favorite books of all time, was selected as this year's One Book One Town for Chicago. As part of the festivities, author Markus Zusak collaborated with a playwright to turn his wonderful book into a stage production.
The show will be at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago this fall and I have tickets!!! I will be seeing the show October 20th and I can't wait. Here's more info and here's where you can get tickets.
I'd love to hear if any of you guys end up going!

OMG, OMG. We go to Chicago a couple times a year (once for sure in August) but I don't think we are going to be able to go this year because my parents can't watch the kids. We will be there next week, but I bet that is too soon. *gloom*
Oh bummer! When I heard about this I dropped everything and started planning a weekend there. Maybe it will end up working out for you, fingers crossed.
My cousin is an actress in Chicago - I wonder if she tried out for this!
I would LOVE to see this. I'm making plans as we speak. :)
Cara
Care - If she's young she might have!
Cara - Let me know if you end up going the same day as me! I got tickets with Laurel and Shanay and we could meet up.
If I lived anywhere remotely near Chicago, I would certainly make an effort to go see this. Alas, I live in the wrong hemisphere... With Zusak's collaboration, I expect it'll be a worthwhile production. I'd be very interested in hearing how the book translates to the stage!
Biblibio - I'm in Indy, so I would have no excuse for missing it. I'm a bit nervous about how it will translate into a play, but I'm excited too!
Ooh, I'm in chicago! Very excited by this- thanks for the info :-)
Aarti - Oh good! I'd love to hear if you end up going.
WOW is all I have to say! This sounds incredibly exciting!
Jillian - I know! I hope that there's a good turn out for the shows.
I'm sooo excited for you! Be sure to share when you get back.
Captain - Thanks! I will.
I have trouble imagining this as a play but I'm curious to see how they'd pull it off!
Jenners - I know, I'm nervous but the fact that Zusak was involved in writing the play makes me feel better.
