Top Ten Favorite Covers

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

This week's Top Ten from The Broke and the Bookish asks for Top Ten Covers and I'm going to give you ten of my favorites from my own library, starting, of course, with the Penguin Hardcovers. I've been collecting these for 2 years now (slowly), but have 12 of them! I'm sure there are many other great ones, but these are a few that come to mind for one reason or another.

Do you guys have any favorites?

I like the covers of Imagined London and All the kings Men the best, although they are all rather cool.

Oooh! That Nick Hornby cover immediately caught my eye. Also, The Shadow of the Wind...such a creepy cover, I love it!

I'm going to add some of them to my Pinterest list "Judging a book by its cover" (http://pinterest.com/sleeplessreader/judging-a-book-by-its-cover/)

I especially love the Whitman one.. and Follett's.

Diane - Aren't those lovely! I love when a cover reflects the atmosphere of the book.

Kat - So different, but both so good!

Alex - I love that Pintrest list! You have so many fantastic ones on there. I really want that Poems for Life book now.

I love how on the Notes from a Small Island cover, the tea remains are in the shape of the UK. That's my favorite part.

Wow the Penguin Hardcovers are really stunning! I think I may have to start collecting them myself, even if it will mean doubling many of my books!

Interesting! I especially love the cover of All the King's Men; it tells a story on its own.

And you need to make room for one more book cover: mine. Ha! (I'm joking, really. It's cute, that's all)

Cute covers especially Housekeeping vs. The Dirt. Some of my favorite covers include Lauren Groff's Delicate Edible Birds and The Thorn and the Blossom by Theodora Goss.

They are eye-catching. It always amazes me how attached I get to the covers that I have on my books and I can't stand when I see the "wrong" cover on another version. This would make a great collage for your home!

Peggy - Thanks!

Tanya - I know, the title is just as good.

adamsbibliomania - I had the same problem. There are a few that I probably won't get because I'm too attached to the copy I already read.

mari - I love your cover! In case anyone else wants to see it...

Vasilly - Those are gorgeous, especially Groff's book.

Jenners - Isn't that funny. I always think of certain books with specific covers because that's how I first saw them.

Kailana - It makes you occasionally want to judge a book by its cover.
