Prince Edward Island

We're off on a little adventure this week. As my due date gets closer I wanted to see if we can fit in one more trip. So we're headed to Prince Edward Island in Canada! We've both always wanted to visit and so we're so excited!

 

In addition to lighthouses, scenic drives, and delicious lobster, I can't wait to see the Anne of Green Gables house! I'll see you all back here sometime next week!

Florida Trip

Happy Early Memorial Day and more importantly Towel Day!

The Huz and I are taking a vacation in Florida. 

We will hopefully be fully unplugged from work 

and relaxing this week. I'll be back in June!

Fiji Time!

The third and final stop on our trip was Fiji! We flew into Nadi and then took a shuttle to our resort. It was a brilliant decision to end the trip with a few days of relaxation. The exchange rate is also strongly in favor of the US dollar there, so it was really affordable!

We spent a couple days laying around and relaxing on the beach. One day we went snorkeling in the middle of the coral reefs, which was incredible! We drank from a fresh coconut, saw brilliantly colored fish up close, tried kava, and had an amazing time.

 
I'd never stayed in a resort before, but it was so nice to have everything in one place. We were there to try to slow down and it was just lovely. Everyone refers to it as "Fiji Time" meaning things are going to happen whenever they happen. 

The beaches were clean and beautiful, the people were friendly, the food was good and there were lots of tropical cocktails to enjoy!

All-in-all it was truly the trip of a lifetime. We saw so many unbelievable things, but honestly one of my favorite parts was getting to share my love of international travel with my husband. Other than a mission trip to Mexico, we had never traveled outside of the country together. It was so much fun for me to share that with him. Staying in hostels, eating picnics from the grocery store in small city parks, people watching, exploring, I just loved it.

Off Seeing Hobbits & Kagaroos

The time has FINALLY come! The Huz and I are headed to New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji for a couple weeks. After years of saving and planning this crazy adventure is finally happening!!!

So I will be away from this blog (and everything else) with incredibly limited access to technology (yay!) for the next couple weeks. I'm guessing I will still be posting some fun pictures on Instagram when possible for any of you that follow me there (avidreader25). Have a great couple weeks and I will be sure to share photos when I return.

On the Road Again

The Huz and I have serious love of road trips. In the past few years we’ve trekked out to the South Dakota Badlands, the Gulf Shore in Alabama, Lake Powell in Utah, the Redwoods in California, Crater Lake in Oregon, the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado to name a few.

So we’re excited about our next big trip. We’re leaving today to meander out to Glacier National Park (see that gorgeous picture above!) in Montana. We’re so excited! We’ll be hanging out in the Twin Cities, camping in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota and enjoying the beautiful trails in Glacier.

So anyway, I’ll be out of commission for the next couple weeks as we make our way through Minnesota, North Dakota and Montana. I have posts scheduled, but I will probably not be doing great on responding to your comments and commenting on your blogs. I will be enjoying your comments though! I have an iPhone, but won’t have great internet access. So I hope you all have a great couple weeks and I’ll be back soon with fun pictures!
