I've been to Crater Lake, and it's uniquely captivating.
My dad used to tell a story of how, when he was a young man in the 1950's, he visited the park and rode the launch which - in those days anyway - stopped at Wizard Island. He stayed on the island alone for a few hours one afternoon in between visits by the launch, and described it as the most wonderful solitude...
What a stunning photograph, how did you get the shadowy effect? Thankyou for commenting on my review of Her Fearful Symmetry, I am not sure if you subscribe to comments but I have now responded there if you are interested:)

bibliophilica - That just sounds sublime. I wish we had made it to Wizard Island while we were there.
LindyLou - I used the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone.
