Bernadette would definitely be on my list as well! And I just got Tell the Wolves on audio, and am loading it as I speak!

Great list! Bernadette was spectacular :) And Song of Achilles? Swoon!

Persuasion is also one of the best books I read this year, but because it's a reread I didn't put it on my list. I have reread so many great books this year that I could have had an all rereads list and so I decided to make my list about first time reads only.
Cold Sassy Tree has been on my TBR list for some time and based on your review I'm putting The Night Circus on it as well.

I reread Gatsby last year, it was just as good as I remembered. I'm not sure about seeing the movie though.

Sandy - Can't wait to read your thoughts on Wolves!

Jennifer - I love it when I finish a book (like I did with Achilles) and immediately want to start it again.

Bibliophile - I almost left all my rereads off, but I've tried to do a lot of rereading this year so I had so many that were in my top books section! I hope you enjoy both Cold Sassy Tree and Night Circus. They're very different books, but both wonderful!

Loni - I saw the movie and I was really happy with it. Of course it's different from the book and I wasn't a fan of Tobey Maguire, but so much of it was well done. It's a Baz film, so lots of over-the-top stuff, but I was expecting that.

I started reading The Night Circus last year and got about 100 pages into before I put it down for no reason! I loved what I did read so I think I'll have to start again.

My TTT with a twist!

I don't think we have the same taste in books, but that's still cool! I have to read The Great Gatsby for summer homework soon. Glad you love that! :)

Great list. Great book ideas. Oh, I loved Cold Sassy Tree. Did you read the sequel ... beware it is unfinished. Heartbreaking.

Have been meaning to read State of Wonder for ages. Thanks for reminder.

Oooo I should have included my HP re-reads :)

And yay for The Song of Achilles! It didn't quite make my list, but it was a really good story :)

You have a great list! I loved Where'd You Go Bernadette. And everything Tennessee Williams and Jane Austen. Tell the Wolves I'm Home is on my TBR list.

Annoushka Rand - You have got to finish it!

Holly - Enjoy Gatsby!

wordhits - I had no idea there was a sequel, but I'm always nervous of reading unfinished books. I feel like it's probably not the product the author would have presented in the end.

Sarah - HP re-reads would definitely make the list.

thebookstop - Re-reading Austen has been such a treat and I've loved discovering Williams' work.
