I love all the Laura Ingalls Wilder books...I grew up on them!

I just read The Children's Blizzard a couple of weeks ago and it was sad, but thrilling. Non-fiction doesn't get better than that.

I wouldn't have thought I knew anything about South Dakota, but I have read the LIW books and the Sharon Creech one, now that you mention them.

I can't think of any SD books but I seem to have a few in mind that were set in Montana.

Sandy - I haven't read them since I was little. I really think I should re-read them soon!

annieb - I'll have to read that one. I hadn't heard much about it.

Jeanne - I'm always surprised by the ones I've read too.

Care - All those states can kind of blend together for me, as I'm sure much of the Midwest does for others. It's fun to learn the differences between each one.
