I have come to adore Silas and the relationship he and Bod share. I think they are BOTH learning and growing through their interactions. I admit I got choked up when Bod referred to Silas as his dad.. even if it was for the purposes of staging their escape from the police, I think it was pretty telling of the nature of their relationship.

I can't wait to read the rest of the book! I agree about Silas, there's was just the right amount of mystery aroudn him.

nrlymrtl - He really does! It's an incredible talent. While this is a children's book, Gaiman has a knack for addressing adult concepts (suicide, fear, fighting with a dear friend) without breaking stride within the story. nrlymrtlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00572346310916207565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8481406859587493585.post-57732652428210415262012-10-14T14:51:27.103-04:002012-10-14T14:51:27.103-04:00I was in the middle of reading this when I discove...I was in the middle of reading this when I discovered the read-along. I ended up finishing it and enjoyed it. I liked Silas and the way Gaiman never really came out and said what he was, although there are more than enough clues for the reader to come up with some possibilities.Dalehttp://www.mirrorwithclouds.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8481406859587493585.post-10900277224316161052012-10-14T11:36:16.927-04:002012-10-14T11:36:16.927-04:00I felt so sad for Silas, barred from the Danse Mac...I felt so sad for Silas, barred from the Danse Macabre.
