I want to get to Don Quixote one day but I am procrastinating on that one too.Beccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02706544792110129160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8481406859587493585.post-21300752141806289752010-04-27T22:45:33.377-04:002010-04-27T22:45:33.377-04:00I also never thought about Proust, great choice! I considered adding Dante to my list also but I had to narrow it to 3. :) BTW, Don Quixote wasn't so bad but I think it would really depend on getting a good translation. I read it years ago for a Lit. class and can't remember what edition it was but I enjoyed it.Icedreamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06343443042875160203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8481406859587493585.post-90459711455114744032010-04-27T17:00:24.846-04:002010-04-27T17:00:24.846-04:00sharazad - I don't know what Proust's prob...sharazad - I don't know what Proust's problem was, but seven volumes, really?

Jeanne - Thanks for the thoughts on Dante. You've encouraged me to at least tackle the Inferno.Melissa (Avid Reader)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02119628715475021774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8481406859587493585.post-74416107634440653122010-04-27T16:20:22.365-04:002010-04-27T16:20:22.365-04:00When I look at your list, I think, yeah, same! Except I had to teach the Inferno a few years ago for a class, and when I read it I was surprised how much I enjoyed it--the way the punishments fit the crime is interesting, and the way Dante named names is fascinating to me (the context for that is that I'm a student of 18th-century satire, which always names names).Jeannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01374498643286099244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8481406859587493585.post-8378670179592229532010-04-27T14:58:51.252-04:002010-04-27T14:58:51.252-04:00I didn't think of Proust either. What on Earth...I didn't think of Proust either. What on Earth was wrong with that man? Was he hypergraphic? Or did he just have a plot to take down as many trees as possible?
I will probably try it,someday, too.

The Divine Comedy is not as hard as I thought it would be- first, it's divided into three separate books. It's possible to get through life just by reading the Inferno (which is awesome).BioPeachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11302958624323518063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8481406859587493585.post-85761688282126253142010-04-27T12:26:42.030-04:002010-04-27T12:26:42.030-04:00Ah, Marcel Proust.
